River School is built by Matt King — one person, with two AI collaborators (one for execution, one for architecture and review). The project exists because my family is homeschooling and every existing AI tutor on the market felt like a slot machine wearing a tutor costume.

What kids actually need from an AI tutor is patience, specificity, and honesty. Not streaks. Not badges. Not cheerful hype. A real tutor notices when you're stuck and tries a different approach; a real tutor tells you the truth when your answer is close but wrong. River School tries to be that — and is designed, contract by contract, to stay that way.

We launch for Grade 6 in September 2026 with a full 346-lesson curriculum. Other grades will follow when we can do them right — not before.
